BASIC RULES FOR WELL-GROOMED HEELS

Categories

Healthy and well-groomed heels are not only beautiful, but also very important for overall health and comfort. The heels are constantly subjected to a lot of pressure, especially when walking and standing, which can lead to dryness, cracking, blistering and other problems. But with regular care and the right products, you can ensure your heels are healthy and beautiful.

Dry, flaky heels can be not only an unpleasant cosmetic blemish, but can also cause discomfort, including itching, irritation and even soreness. That said, keeping your heels moisturised is not just a matter of aesthetics, but also of skin health. In this article, we'll look at why hydrating your heels is important and how to properly care for the skin on this area.

Why is heel hydration important?

The skin on the heels is often the driest and roughest area of our body, as it is subjected to constant pressure and friction when walking and standing. In addition, this area lacks the oil glands that secrete fat and moisturise the skin, so it is more prone to dryness. Dry skin on the heels can lead to cracking, which can be very painful and even cause infection.

Moisturising your heels helps keep your skin supple and prevent flaking and cracking. In addition, regular heel moisturising helps to soften rough skin and make it smoother and softer.

How do you keep your heels properly moisturised?

  1. Steam bath. You can prepare your heels for a steam bath. This involves putting hot water in a bowl, adding a little salt or essential oils and lowering your feet for 10-15 minutes. The steam bath helps to open up the skin pores and prepare the skin for hydration.
  2. Scrubbing. You can use a scrub after the steam bath to remove the rough skin on your heels. A massage scrub or a scrub made from coffee grounds or baking soda and oil can be used for this purpose.
  3. Moisturise. After the steam bath and scrubbing you should moisturise your heel skin with heel cream. Heel cream contains moisturizing and nourishing ingredients which help reduce dry skin on the heels and prevent cracking and corns. Heel cream may contain ingredients such as urea, aloe vera, tea tree oil and vitamin E.
